Youth Worker (part-time)

Shipley Baptist Church, West Yorkshire

£23,953 pro rata (£10,266 per annum)

2 days/week (15 hours)

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead the youth ministry at Shipley Baptist Church. The primary and initial focus to this role is the discipleship of young people that are part of the Shipley Baptist Church community, but it is not our intention for this to be the sole focus. We would look to this role to also develop new areas for mission & social action with young people in Shipley.

We want young people to explore faith in the context of the world around them. We encourage them to ask awkward questions, support each other, and be ‘salt and light’ in their own community. We aim for young people to grow in confidence, discover their own faith and join the rest of our community as we grow as disciples of Jesus.

We have an established core youth group meeting on Sunday mornings and evenings and are actively involved in local youth outreach, including a weekly drop in on Church premises.

If you have questions about the role or would value a conversation about the role before applying, please contact alex196@btinternet.com

Line management will come from an appointed member of the church. Shipley Baptist Church is committed to supporting continued professional youth work training for the successful candidate.

We are open to conversations about flexible working for the right candidate.

There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a practicing Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Please send a CV and either a covering letter or a short video introducing yourself and outlining how you meet the job profile to alex196@btinternet.com or by post to Shipley Baptist Church, New Kirkgate, Shipley, BD18 3QY by midnight on Sunday 10th November 2024.
