Our part-time youth worker, Adam Robinson, is a “local lad”, brought up within the sound of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. He’s had a few adventures travelling round the country and to different parts of the world. Becoming a youth worker was his dream and it finally happened working at Shipley Baptist Church and is very excited for his work going forward.
After school, he was employed to prepare food and pull pints as he embarked on his gap year exploring his new-found Christian faith. Finishing his gap year Adam knew that he loved working with children and young people which led him to become a SEN (Special Educational Needs) teaching assistant. He enjoyed this job but working in a school just wasn’t for him. He enjoyed youth leading over teaching. To his surprise Adam found himself joining the mega team at the Zephaniah Trust in September 2018, with two days specifically applied to developing our youth work at Shipley Baptist Church which he has loved every day of.
Adam likes playing music, watching Netflix and eating lots of food. His favourite band is Counting Crows but his music taste is rather wacky too. He can enjoy music like Take That, Taylor Swift, smooth jazz, rock and roll and Frank Sinatra. He is partial to dressing up and acting the fool which he has had plenty of opportunity to do working at Shipley Baptist Church and with the Zephaniah Trust.
Adam is really enjoying working with our SBC young people – why not come along and find out what goes on?
